Brothers,
Hope all is going well as we are about halfway through our fall semester here at the Gamma Theta Chapter of Sigma Chi. I just wanted to let everyone know that due to a limited number of responses to the Alumni Weekend on October 16 (this saturday), the date has been moved to an away game in November (most likely November 6 away vs. Vanderbilt). There is already a group of guys from the mid 70's - 80's that plan on being in town, and I hope to see several more Gamma Theta alum come out for the event. It was an excellent time last year for the 85th anniversary we held at the house, and we will be doing the same thing this year with catered food and liquor on Friday night. Please e-mail me with any questions concerning this event, and sorry for any inconvenience with the date change.

Alumni Weekend
Brothers,
I am currently in the process of setting up the Alumni Weekend schedule for October 15-16. I was just wondering how many brothers expect to attend this year for the Friday night event at the house, including catered food and some top shelf liquor behind the bar. Please e-mail me back and let me know if you plan on attending. Thank you and I look forward to seeing many of you back this year for another great time.

Fall Update/Alumni Weekend
Brothers,
I hope everyone's fall is going great, and you all are enjoying Gator football season as much as we are here in Gainesville. As far as the chapter house and active brotherhood goes, everything is going great. We are making several improvements as far the financial situation goes, and the house looks excellent after the $70,000+ of renovations completed this summer, and the brothers are doing a great job respecting all of the old and new fixtures. We also just recently finished rush and have several excellent pledge brothers in the Fall 2010 pledge class this semester.
As has been stated earlier this summer, alumni weekend will fall on homecoming this year, October 16th vs. Mississippi State. Just like last year, on Friday night the house will be open to alumni and the dining room will have food setup, along with a fully stocked, top shelf bar in the band room. On Saturday, as usual the house will be hosting a tailgate barbeque paired with the beautiful ladies of Tri Delta, and depending on the time of the game we will have burgers and dogs either before or after the game. Prices and further details will be provided as things fall into place, and I will continue to keep all of you updated on this awesome weekend.
On a more somber note, as I am sure many of you have seen and heard, former Gamma Theta brother Thomas Maresco, a Spring 06 passed away on September 3rd. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho, and allegedly got shot in a robbery attempt. We will be holding a memorial service for him on September 25th prior to the Kentucky game, and will also be having his family here. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through these extremely difficult times.
If you have any questions regarding Tom or the alumni dinner feel free to email me at thomaswillc@ufl.edu, or this address, sigmachigator@gmail.com

Alumni Weekend 2010
Brothers,
Hope all is going well and everyone is enjoying their summer. I just wanted to give a quick update on events upcoming in the fall semester, as the 2010 University of Florida Football Season is quickly approaching. This year, once again, the Gamma Theta Chapter House will be holding an Alumni Weekend, very similar to the one held last year, on October 16 and 17, homecoming weekend against conference rival Mississippi State. Friday night, October 16, at the chapter house, prior to Gator Growl, and running until 11-12 pm, we will have catered food setup in the dining hall, and band room of the house, in order to give alumni the chance to drop by, meet up with old friends, and look at the house, and how it has changed in the years since everyone was an active brother. There will also be a stocked bar in the band room for drinks, very similar to last year's event. Afterward, everyone is welcome to go out to the bars and enjoy the night, or rest up for the following Saturday Gameday. On Saturday, October 17, the house, once again, will be open to anyone who would like to stop by and enjoy another great Sigma Chi Gameday with all of the active brothers, and other guests. Further details concerning the event will be sent out via e-mail, facebook, and the Gamma Theta website, but please mark the date in your calendar and I look forward to seeing all of you here for an exciting weekend. Questions or concerns can be e-mailed to this e-mail account sigmachigator@gmail.com.

Pray for Jeff Danzy
Brothers,
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this summer and great weather we are having. Unfortunately I have some very sad news regarding one of our well known alumni, Jeff Danzy. Recently he has learned that he has liver cancer, and it is terminal. I just felt it appropriate to let everyone know of this sad i...nformation, as Jeff has been such a big part of all our lives as Gamma Theta Sigma Chis. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers, and I will continue to update everyone with information as I receive it. Also, we will be accepting any donations to help his family out with this terrible situation. Please contact me via facebook, e-mail, etc if you have any questions, and again please pray for Jeff and his family.

Gamma Theta Initiation and Orange and Blue BBQ
Brothers,
Hope everyone has been well these past few weeks. I just wanted to remind everyone that upcoming beginning on April 4, 2010, the Spring 2010 Pledge Class will begin their I-Week. On Friday, April 9 the pledges will be taken out to the Pits to begin the ceremonies of Initiation. As many of you know this is one of the most meaningful nights of I-week, and it only makes it more meaningful when the pledges see several different alumni coming out to help and observe this night, allowing them to realize the importance of this week. We will be leaving the house around 9 pm, and should be off of the property around 11 pm. The next morning Initiation will begin around 7 am, and finish around 9-930 am. You are all welcome and encouraged to attend either or both of these events, and following Initiation there will be a breakfast and BBQ for both the new pledge class and the Orange and Blue Spring Gator Game on April 10. This should be a very fun weekend both celebrating the Initiation of our new Spring 2010 pledge class along with the first Gator game of the 2010 season. E-mail me back with any questions or concerns regarding these events, and I hope to see all of you there.
